History of Jujitsu
Ju-Jitsu
is a martial art form that originated in Japan and other Asian countries and
found its way to the west in the early 1900’s. Masters of Ju-Jitsu challenged
anyone from professional wrestlers to boxers and defeated them—often brutally.
Ju-Jitsu, “the art of flexibility” relies on speed, balance and leverage as
opposed to brute strength. This martial art is practiced today within the safety
guidelines of organizations, and techniques are used only to a point to minimize
damage.
